On 17th Feb, we experience a transition into the lunar new year of the Fire Horse. Interestingly, as I was creating the write up for this class on 22nd (and the concept of paradoxes had already landed), I quickly computed the numerology of today's date which actually adds up to 2 (1+7+2+2+2+6 = 20).
The number 2 is a perfect representation of the tension and power in paradox. One + one in simple terms gives us 2, a representation of duality. However contained within all duality is an unseen force, a third dynamic, that manages the equilibrium within the duality. It is a concept and physical implication of utmost importance for us as we prepare to move forward in the really powerful year (and not just because it is indicated by the Fire Horse!).
The Power of Paradox is the capacity to:
It is not compromise—it is structural integration. Psychologically, this is mature ego development. Spiritually, it is non-dual awareness embodied. Energetically, it is coherence across tension.
Paradox is not confusion. It is dynamic equilibrium.
All around us, the bubbles of illusion are well and truly bursting, and compelling us to bear witness to the toxic murkiness they have been enfolding. People can no longer pretend they 'didn't know' when the truths that are being revealed are so loud and filling every form of media.The timing of the release of the infamous E. files is interesting if we bear in mind that we are transitioning from the Chinese lunar year of the snake (shedding, clearing, letting go) to the new lunar year of the Fire Horse.
What many may miss is that in shedding our own patterns, habits and identities that no longer serve, we may temporarily find ourselves in a vulnerable transitional space. While this may feel lighter, it also requires a time of bolstering our nervous systems and developing discipline in respect of our boundaries so as not to become overwhelmed by what is happening externally in the world.
It has been observed by a number of psychologists that the dump of information concerning the activities and associations revealed in the Epstein Files is a massive psychological operation - from the perspective that the financial, sexual and manipulative abuse that is becoming evident has remained uninvestigated by the authorites, and is still happening. So, the public is being exposed to a flood of truths for which there is still no accountability, nor is there evidence of investigation by law enforcement agencies. It is an action designed to flood and overwhelm most people's nervous system with limited capacity to integrate such horrors and no possibility of 'closure'. It is yet another abuse of the populace designed to destabilise and generate yet more fear, leaving people feeling powerless and helpless. It is clear that the Deepak Chopra links have left many in the 'spiritual' or 'personal growth' community reeling, feeling betrayed and often rudderless.
It can seem at times as if the 'powers that be' are throwing everything and the kitchen sink at people - whether that be taxes, talk of war, AI and job losses, epidemics (measles is favoured at the moment), name-calling, arrests for violations of speech, digital ID's, unregulated illegal immigration, and now these 'files'....the list goes on and on. We are experiencing a compression of time, along with a concentration of directed events, putting incredible pressure on our nervous systems.
The result is often either to collapse or fragment ourselves under the weight of such onslaught, ignore it and bury our heads in the sand, feel as if we are forced to take a position or detach completely and isolate ourselves from the world. We can be naive and believe that if we focus strongly enough on the 'new earth', then by magic it will arise, or we can live within the paradox of old decay and new emergence without getting enmeshed or merging with either one.
In this high velocity year of the Fire Horse, you have the capacity to blaze trails by managing the dynamic tension of multiple polarities and harnessing the potential stored within that 'third space'. It is an incredibly powerful year if we successfully navigate the internal tensions that will continue to arise.
